What a lovely morning...

I am miserable. The super is doing some kind of oil drilling in my hallway. What the hell? It's Saturday morning. Whatever happened to the super collecting his paycheck and not doing anything?

Mighty Thursday

Mighty Thursday is here. The workhorse of the week, Thursday marches in a finishes the work of the week and initiates the liesure of the weekend. Thursday wears a viking helmut trimmed with silver with two horns, one longer than the other. Upon Thursday's shoulder's is a velvety cape clutched together by a golden medallion. In Thursday's hand is a club, to beat back depression and forge a path for hope, for the weekend. Mighty Thursday, blow your horn.

But I don't want John Kerry to win Wisconsin!

"Uh, hello. I don't think I can make it into work today. Kerry won Wisconsin. I'd be useless..."

First we had Al Gore in 2000 and now John Kerry all these primaries. Why do we always back the boring, uncharasmatic, vanilla candidates? Is it because these are the guys that run around pleasing everybody and stacking up the contrubutions from different sources? Kerry concerns me because I don't what I would get from this guy if I voted him in. He slams "special interests" but doesn't name names. He has voted consistently with Bush policies: The Patriot Act, No Child Left Behind, The War in Iraq. What would a policy debate between Bush and Kerry look like? All Bush has to do is be like "If you think you can do a better job than me and disagree with my policies why did you vote for all my stuff?" And John Kerry will be like "Unspecified special interest! Unspecified special interest! Unspecified special interest! Don't let the door hit you on the way out."

Whatever happened to Howard Dean? He was all over the place. Then they played that harmless Iowa speech and it was like that was the end. What the hell? He made sense, was definite in his opinions, and did a good job being governor of Vermont. He talked about a feasible national healthcare plan, how the Democrats are turning into Republicans, sanctions against Saudi Arabia--things that made sense. And he's a physician! I loved that guy.

Although Edwards is more conservative than my tastes and has supported The Patriot Act and The War in Iraq, I think I'm going to side with him. I just like him better. He strikes me as more genuine and he talks about stuff like how we shouldn't just talk about the middle class, we need to help out the lower class and the poor. If a Democrat is singled out these days by his support of the lower classes what kind of Democratic party are they running? I also would relish a debate between Bush and Edwards. Edwards is an experienced trial lawyer and Bush is an experienced C student. Plus if you go to Edwards website and make a contribution you get a recipe for his Mom's peanut pie with fudge sauce. He's got my vote!

Tuesday Troubles

Here's the quote of the day so far: "Then I emailed my boyfriend."

The mouse: I have accepted the fact that he can fly, dodge sudden death, and has a higher IQ than me. I have resolved to eliminate him using the complications of his own obesity. He is getting fatter. Hopefully his arteries will start to wear down and he'll take up smoking. He will be getting a nightly meal of Pall Malls and peanut butter. He will slowly develop diabetes, cardiovascular problems, then he will become depressed about his self image and take on self-destructive behaviors. It is only a matter of time mouse. Only a matter of time.

Live it up, everybody. It's friggin' Tuesday. And on Tuesday, we do it up.
