The Republican National Convention

Why is the Republican Convention being held in New York City? I'm clueless why they picked this as their spot. I can not imagine a city which has more disagreements with the current administration than New York. I'm baffled. I feel like taking a sick day to try to see the reasoning. I want to get out a microscope and do some calculations. I have yet to come across a New Yorker who proudly supports the current administration and I get around. I think the only enthusiastic republicans are going to be the ones flown in from out of state as well as their foreign constituency in Saudi Arabia.

Everyone knows that political parties are illegal in Saudi Arabia, right? I just wanted to make sure everyone knew that. On top of public beheadings and legalized mistreatment of women, political parties are illegal in Saudi Arabia. Yet they are one of our strongest allies. No offense to the republicans (who value personal liberties and fiscal conservatism) and have had their party taken over by profiteers and religious nut jobs, but the Republican party might want to hold its convention in Riyadh, seeing as they're such fans of that country.
