Friday
I'm tired of people hesitating before they ask favors or questions. They seem to float into my office, flutter around for three to fiv seconds, stutter a couple times then ask me to do something for them. Or they won't even ask, they will just state a need and expect me to attend to them. I can't stand this. I actually had a stand off with a woman today whom I handed a list that I had prepared using the info I had. She told me the list was missing people. Then there was a ten second pause where she just stared at me before asking me to add names to it.
Oh great , the phone's ringing.
I'm really upset about how the ringing of a telephone instigates an obligation to answer the phone and how angry people get when you don't answer the phone. What obligates me to talk to a person? Where's the law that says if someone wants to speak to you that their wish must be granted. We are an amazingly polite society.
